Patience: Slash admits he and Axl Rose are friends again, but won’t commit to Guns N’ Roses reunion

Slash and Axl are friends again.

We repeat: Slash and Axl are friends again.

The former Guns N’ Roses guitarist dropped a bombshell yesterday on Swedish television, admitting to Aftonbladet TV that he and his one-time frontman are back on speaking terms. According to Blabbermouth, Slash was in Sweden playing with Graveyard and promoting the Marshall London phone, and revealed that his friendship with Rose has been restored.

After the Swedish host says he heard the two musicians were friends again, Slash replies: “It was probably way overdue, you know? But it’s… you know, it’s very cool at this point. You know, let some of that, sort of, negative… dispel some of that negative stuff that was going on for so long.”

But Slash stopped way short of suggested a classic-lineup GnR reunion was in order.

“Oh, I couldn’t answer that one, though,” Slash says, and when pressed harder, he switches gears. “All right, let’s get off the subject, ’cause, you know, that’s an old one.”

Slash was also asked about Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump.

“It’s quite the circus, isn’t it?” he says. “That’s as much as I can say. I’m really surprised… I don’t think we all expected him to take it this far, we all thought it was laughable at first, but he’s actually shown to be somebody who is pretty tenacious, and people appreciate his straightforwardness… it has been entertaining.”

That sentiment could apply to Axl, no?
