The recent Drake vs. Meek Mill beef generated headlines around the world earlier this summer, but neither of the rappers went so far as to get ISIS involved in their battle. But that’s what Fat White Family has gone and done, as the London group have threatened to relocate to Syria and join ISIS if Canadian musician Mac Demarco doesn’t retire immediately.
We think they were kidding.
The London sextet took to Facebook Wednesday to make the claim. “Unless Mac demarco immediately withdraws from music and the public eye,” they write, “me and saul will be on the first plane to Syria to join Isis. Peace be with you.”
Demarco has yet to respond.
The Fat Whites cited a 2013 performance by Demarco at Pitchfork Music Festival as a prime reason for the threat. “Jest or not it is a crime,” they write.
