Hot Dameron: These Star Wars-themed album covers will awaken your musical force

Force Friday has come and gone, leaving us with nothing but empty toy department shelves at Target and a long journey ahead to the December release of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens. As we scour the internet for clues about Kylo Ren, Rey, Finn, and Captain Phasma, WhyTheLongPlayFace? on Twitter has given us a reason to daydream of a Star Wars galaxy not only scored by John Williams, but also soundtracked by the likes of Bjork, Fleetwood Mac, Nirvana, and others.

These Photoshop mashups of vinyl album covers with Star Wars characters is pretty incredible. Imagine Princess Leia as the cover of Bjork’s Debut, or R2-D2 replacing the self-immolation of Thích Quảng Đức, replicated by Rage Against The Machine for their infamous first record’s album sleeve (that might be offensive, we dunno). On a lighter note, there’s even some Force Awakens action, with BB-8 getting its Elliott Smith on, and Oscar Isaac doubling up on his characters as Poe Dameron swaps out Llewyn Davis. C-3P0 on the cover of Nirvana’s In Utero is next-level, and Bossk as Bruce Springsteen is a transcendent Trandoshan.

There’s really too many to choose from. Check out some of our favorites below, via Revenge of the 5th, and view the entire collection here and here:
