Boston’s Delta Bravo Urban Exploration Team pinpoints exact location of ’80s Morrissey photo


Back in May, online historical resource Dirty Old Boston posted a photo of Morrissey standing under a street sign for Morrissey Boulevard, presumably from the ’80s and likely around when the Smiths played the Opera House in June 1985.

There’s been some speculation about the exact location of the photo. Until now.

Earlier this week, Delta Bravo Urban Exploration Team – Boston, a group described as “a collective of individuals that seek to find location detail for pop culture,” has pinpointed the exact spot of the image: 710 Morrissey Blvd. in Dorchester, the current home of Boston’s Westminster Motors.

DBUET even placed the original image atop a current view, so we can see exactly where our lord and savior Steven Patrick Morrissey once stood. This piece of the city probably won’t go down in Smiths lore like the Salford Lads Club, but hey, it’s ours.
