A gory Grimes battles alt-pop expectations in excellent new double-track video

Last week Grimes announced her new album Art Angels, which should hit digital shelves by the time the Canadian electronic pop star plays the Paradise in Boston on November 20 (Update: It’s out November 6). Over the weekend, she debuted a few of the new joints at the Beach Goth festival in California, and this morning, it appears a leaked version of her new video, a two-fer of alt-pop surefire hit “Flesh Without Blood” and the dramatic ballad “Life In The Vivid Dream,” has leaked online.

The radio-friendly “Flesh Without Blood” marks some new territory for Grimes, sending her into the ’80s new wave stratosphere, and sounds pretty fucking amazing. The gory video elicits some Marie Antoinette vibes as Grimes dances around in various places, including a tennis court. Things get more gruesome as the music slows down in the second half. Shout out to Angel Grimes.

UPDATE 11:34 a.m.: Looks like the video was pulled. We’ll update it when it drops officially.
