As 2015 progresses and draws to a close, the term alt-pop is gradually just becoming “pop.” The mainstream has welcomed a host of new performers to bigger stages, from Ryn Weaver and Meg Myers to Halsey, Phoebe Ryan, and VÉRITÉ, and it’s been an exciting year for new musical voices.
Next in line is likely to be 19-year-old Canadian singer Alessia Cara, who this week dropped her vibrant new single, “Wild Things.” The fresh track is off her upcoming Def Jam debut album Know It All, and it should be a certified hit.
