Beach Slang find tranquility in nature in video for ‘Bad Art & Weirdo Ideas’

With debut album The Things We Do To Find People Who Feel Like Us, Philadelphia rock band Beach Slang have released not only one of the finest records of 2015, but one that feels like it’ll truly stand the test of time. It’s an introspective, lush, layered album fresh with emotion and tone, and we really can’t wait to hear it in a live setting when the band plays Great Scott in Allston on November 24.

The crowd assembled that night are likely to be 200-plus people who have listened to the Beach Slang over and over, and on their own terms, in their own headphones on mass transit commutes, bike rides, at home, at work, on weekends, at night, in the morning, wherever and whenever. There’s a real sense of personal escape in The Things We Do To Find People Who Feel Like Us, and that feeling comes to light in the band’s new video for “Bad Art & Weirdo Ideas,” which flashes across beaches and wooded areas and all the places we go in our minds when we can’t go there physically.

The video was created by Konstantinos Psimaris and Tom Ammon. Watch it below, and read our feature on Beach Slang and interview with James Alex here.
