Later this month, Santa is coming to town. Come March, we get Slayer.
The metal titans this morning announced the first leg of their 2016 tour with fellow golden-era bands Testament and Carcass, and it hits Boston’s House of Blues on March 6. Supporting recent record Repentless, the tour starts February 19 in Chicago and concludes March 26 in Las Vegas. More dates for 2016 are expected to be announced.
Slayer’s fan club pre-sale begins today at noon local time, ticket pre-sales begin tomorrow (Friday, December 4 at 10 a.m.), and the public on-sale is Saturday, December 5 at 10 a.m. local time.
More fine print: “For this tour, Slayer is offering several different limited-availability VIP packages that will include premiums such as watching Slayer’s entrance and first three songs from right onstage, access to the band’s normally off-limits soundcheck, autographed collectibles, and a variety of custom VIP swag. Log onto Slayer’s Facebook for all VIP packages and ticketing details.”
The current Slayer lineup features Kerry King (guitars), Tom Araya (bass/vocals), Paul Bostaph (drums), and touring guitarist Gary Holt. Founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman died in 2013, read our obituary here.
