Twenty Riffteen: Gozu sign to Ripple Music, announce new record ‘Revival’

Boston hard rock dudes Gozu are expecting quite a Revival for 2016.

The quartet revealed earlier today that they have signed to independent California record label Ripple Music, and will release their third full-length, Revival, in the spring of 2016 — which should be right around the time we finally tire of their grinding 2013 LP, The Fury Of A Patient Man.

“Todd Severin and Ripple exude class and a family like atmosphere, which was the thing that truly stuck out for us,” says frontman Marc Gaffney in a press release. “Besides having a great roster of bands, when I spoke with Todd regarding his label you could hear it in his voice the love he has for music and the actual caring he has for people he is working with. That was when we knew we’d be in good hands.”

Previously, Gozu released two albums through Small Stone Records: 2010’s Locust Season and the aforementioned The Fury Of A Patient Man, the latter of which spawned standout tracks like guitar ripper “Salty Thumb” and sludge-fucker thunder jam “Bald Bull”.

The eight songs off Revival were recorded at Wild Arctic Studios in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, with engineer Dean Baltulonis (Primitive Weapons, Most Precious Blood,The Hold Steady). The LP was mastered by Mos Generator’s Tony Reed at Heavy Head Studios in Port Orchard, Washington.

While we await a taste of the new shit, here’s a look at the album artwork…
