Post-Bassic: Tei Shi strips it down and gazes towards the galaxy in new video for ‘Get It’

Even though it was technically released in 2014, Tei Shi’s “Bassically” still stands out as one of the best tracks of the year. And the video showed our heroine in full-on blast mode.

Now, the Brooklyn-based electro-pop singer, born Valerie Teicher, is showing a different look, toning things down a bit as the bass slowly throbs out, and getting a bit more personal with “Get It,” the latest song off this spring’s underrated Verde EP.

The video was directed by DREAMTIGER and shot over the summer in Montreal, where Tei Shi is said to be working on her debut full-length. The black and white visuals — which combine an intimate and up-close Tei Shi with NASA footage from the Cassini Mission satellite, which tracks Saturn and its moons — mimic the lounge-era feel of the song, and it’s another star turn for one of the next best voices in electronic pop.

“Get It,” below, and allow it to tide us all over as we await even greater things to come in 2016.
