On February 16, Eagles of Death Metal will return to Paris.
The American rock band today announced their rescheduled European tour, and it begins February 13 in Stockholm, Sweden. Three days later, Jesse Hughes and company will perform live at France Olympia in Paris, returning to the city of November 13’s terrorist attacks.
Eagles of Death Metal have stated in interviews that they want to be the first band to play the re-opened Bataclan, the site of the tragedy where 89 concertgoers were killed, but the venue will not be restored in time for the band’s return. Instead, Eagles of Death Metal have invited anyone who was at The Bataclan to attend the show at the Olympia free of charge. Fans are asked to contact their original ticket supplier between January 5 and 20 to claim a ticket to the new show.
“The people of Paris have always been incredible to us, and our feeling of love towards this beautiful city and its people has been reinforced a million times over this past month,” says Hughes. “Hearing the stories of the survivors, the injured and those who have lost loved ones has been overwhelming. Not returning to finish our set was never an option. We look forward to coming back in February and continuing our mission to bring rock ‘n’ roll to the world.”
