Visa Sacrifice: Cradle Of Filth cancel first four dates of US tour, including Boston show

Put down those sharp knives — Cradle of Filth’s Inquisitional Torture tour will have to wait a few days.

The veteran British metal band announced it has cancelled the first four dates of its winter tour, including a show tonight in Philadelphia and a stop in Boston tomorrow night at the House of Blues. No rescheduled date has been announced; refunds are available at the point of purchase.

With a massively heavy heart Cradle Of Filth have to announce the cancellation, (for now at least), of our first four shows in the U.S, because of a visa issue with the American Embassy,” writes frontman Dani Filth. “We are doing everything in our power to rectify this situation as fast as possible. It is an nightmarish situation for all and we can only apologise for all those fans who have bought tickets. Thank you for your understanding and please be assured we are doing everything we can to be with you as soon as is humanly possible and that should be 31st January in Charlotte, NC. We look forward to seeing you then.”

Earlier today, the band confirmed that their tour will, in fact, now kick off Sunday in Charlotte.

“Cradle of Filth would like once again apologise to everyone who were intending to see the band at the four cancelled shows this week in the U.S.,” the band writes on Facebook. “The cancellation, ironically, was mainly down to the slow return of Dani’s visa from the American Embassy in London, rather than the brutal weather. Dani has now received his visa after an agonising wait. We’re utterly utterly sorry for the cancellations, but it has been something that has been totally out of the band’s hands. We can only hope that the rest of the tour will be as amazing as planned. Thanks once again for your understanding and see you out on the road!”
