Open Up And Say Gahhh: VH1 to air ‘Rock Of Love’ marathon on Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday this year, which means that the bitter heartache will sting just a little bit extra (though, the tradeoff is that we won’t have to watch fraudulently happy lovers post pictures of flowers sent to their workplaces). Now, we usually don’t ever recommend leaving the house on a Sunday, for any reason, regardless of the faux holiday, but now we have extra incentive to stay in bed and buried under the covers: VH1 is airing a Rock Of Love season 1 marathon, all day on February 14.

Welcome back to our lives, Bret Michaels. Time to get the health clinic on the phone.

For those that don’t remember, Rock Of Love found the Poison frontman looking for love on VH1, part of the network’s trashy celeb-reality series of the late-’00s. We won’t spoil season 1 for you, but let’s just say that Michael’s initial go-round wasn’t his last VH1 rodeo (not that Rodeo). According to Yahoo!, Rock Of Love, which first premiered in 2007, will air from noon to midnight on Valentine’s Day, and serves as the grand finale for VH1’s upcoming “14 Days Of Love” programming.

This fortnight of fuckery will include marathons of fellow desperate-love-seeking shows Flavor of Love, starring Public Enemy’s Flavor Flav (Friday, February 12 from 2 p.m. to midnight), and I Love New York, the Flava spin-off featuring queen Tiffany Pollard (Saturday, February 13 from noon to 11 p.m.).

Be still my broken heart. And step down, Hallmark Channel.

In addition to the reality shows, romance-themed movies will air in primetime, including The 40 Year-Old Virgin, The Best Man, Couples Retreat, Fool’s Gold, Love Actually, Waiting to Exhale, She’s Out Of My League, and Hitch. You’ll also see marathons of recent seasons of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta (starting Saturday, Feb. 6 at 3 p.m. ET and running through Monday, Feb. 8 at 6 a.m. ET).

Each evening will wrap with “VH1 Celebrity Love Hosts” — such as Love & Hip Hop: New York stars Remy Ma and Papoose, Mob Wives’ Karen Gravano and Carla Facciolo, and comedians Michelle Buteau and Jade Catta-Preta — offering love advice and dishing on what we’ve just watched.
