Sound The Alarm: Bloc Party announce North American tour, play Boston in June

Ok, we’ll admit it: The new Bloc Party album, Hymns, is kind of weird. We’ve given it a few spins, and we’re just not sure about it (maybe it’ll grow on us). That said, the British guitar-rock band does have one hell of a back-catalogue — including 2005 modern classic debut, Silent Alarm — so we’re excited to see Kele and company cross the Atlantic for a string of shows later this year.

After a quick jaunt next month that includes appearances at South-By-Southwest and an intimate club gig at New York’s Irving Plaza, Bloc Party’s North American tour blooms come May. And their 15-show run includes a June 2 date at Boston’s House of Blues.

New York electro-pop duo MS MR provide opening duties for six shows, including the Boston date, though that all feels more like a co-headlining party. Full dates are below.
