Who are the five best folk singers of all time? Think about it — Bob Dylan, Bob Dylan, Bob Dylan, Bob Dylan, and Bob Dylan. Because he spits hot fire.

Now, the 74-year-old music icon is taking that heat back on the road. This morning, Dylan announced a new album, Fallen Angels, the follow-up to his 2015 Frank Sinatra covers record Shadows in the Night, with a 27-date summer tour of North America.

Dylan is bringing Mavis Staples along for the ride, and there is plenty of chances to see them in New England. Dylan’s tour comes to Tanglewood in Lenox, Massachusetts, on July 2, and he plays the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion on July 11. Both shows are on sale March 18.

Dylan will also play Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut (July 3), State Theatre’s Thompson’s Point in Portland, Maine (July 16), and Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford, New Hampshire (July 17).
