Former Suede guitarist Bernard Butler to tour North America with Ben Watt

Bernard Butler is finally touring North America. Well, kind of.

The former Suede guitarist will be playing several dates this spring with Ben Watt, the songwriter and musician known for his work with UK duo Everything but the Girl. The tour comes to Brighton Music Hall in Allston on June 18; tickets are on sale now and are priced at $20.

We think this is Butler’s first Boston appearance since 1998, when he played the Lansdowne Street Playhouse in support of his debut solo album, People Move On.

Butler has been described as Watt’s “regular guitarist-sideman and album-collaborator”, and appears on his upcoming album Fever Dream (out April 8). This latest Watt record also features guest appearances by Massachusetts dream-pop composer Marissa Nadler and Hiss Golden Messenger’s M.C. Taylor.

In addition to Butler, who left Suede during the recording of 1994 album Dog Man Star, Watt’s touring band also includes Cameron Ralston on bass and drummer Pinson Chanselle.

Check out Watt and Butler’s full run of dates, and listen to a few of their recent collaborations below.
