Report: Gregg Allman tour bus crashes while traveling on West Virginia highway

A tour bus carrying members of Gregg Allman’s band has crashed on a highway in West Virginia.

According to reports, Allman was not injured, but three of the legendary musician’s sound engineers were taken to an area hospital. The crash occurred when the driver of the bus allegedly began to choke, losing control of the vehicle. It ran off the highway “within feet of a creek near the 119 mile marker on I-77 near the Goldtown exit,” writes CBS News. “Trees apparently stopped the bus from entering the creek.”

Allman, formerly of the Allman Brothers band, is currently on our as a solo artist. It is unclear if he was on the bus that crashed. In 1971, the Allman Brothers’ Duane Allman was killed in a motorcycle crash in Georgia.
