Rumble Interviews: Emo revivals, anti-beard sentiment, and Sia and La Peste covers at Once Ballroom

Now that the preliminary round of the 2016 Rock And Roll Rumble has come to a close, it’s time to look back at the interviews conducted in the second half of the week, in between live performances during Nights 4, 5, and 6 at Once Ballroom (the first 12 are here). Chatting with 12 bands up in Once’s lounge, we covered a range of topics, including the interesting choice of covers at the Rumble (21st Century Fugitives took on La Peste, while Abbie Barrett swung from chandeliers with Sia), whether or not Choke Up like being labeled as “emo”, and why the Knock Ups are so anti-beard (they even wrote a song about it, and the song references Paul Weller).

As we take a knee for a few days before this weekend’s semi-finals (check out the full schedule here, and take note of the early set times), let’s re-boot the final dozen lounge interviews, which were originally posted to the Vanyaland Twitter a few minutes after they wrapped up.

See you on Friday, see you on Saturday.

Rumble on.
