Country Side: Nevermind Coachella, these Boston bands are repping at Stagecoach instead

A few weeks ago we made a stink over the fact that no Boston bands were playing Coachella Music & Arts Festival in California, and the only city representation going down in the Indio desert was from DJ duo Soul Clap (well played, gents). Now that the dust has settled on the indie, electronic, and roll and roll crowds, the post-Coachella scene shifts to Stagecoach, a three-day country music festival that kicks off tonight and is headlined through the weekend by Eric Church, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan.

And way down below in the small font are a pair of Boston acts who fit in nicely: These Wild Plains and Tigerman WOAH. Both are currently out on a West Coast tour together with Narragansett Beer.

We checked in with the bands on the road earlier this week, and in addition to playing Stagecoach, another thing they’re looking forward to is having a brush with some idols over the course of the weekend. At Stagecoach, we’re told, only the opening and headlining bands on each stage get a soundcheck. That means Tigerman WOAH will bump into country legend Marty Stuart this morning, while These Wild Plains will check once John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival fame is done with his.

Listen to both bands below, including These Wild Plains’ recent single, “Old Reasons”, which dropped last week.
