Sinead O’Connor names Arsenio Hall as Prince’s drug supplier; Hall refutes the claim

UPDATE May 5, 5:34 p.m.: Arsenio Hall has slapped Sinead O’Connor with a $5 million defamation lawsuit over her claims.

Sinead O’Connor has named Arsenio Hall as Prince’s drug supplier.

In a shocking and potentially libelous Facebook post made on Monday, O’Connor — who rose to fame in 1990 with the single “Nothing Compares 2 U”, written by Prince — described the late musician as “a long time hard drug user” and pointed a finger directly at Hall. She also says she was “spiked” by Hall “years ago at Eddie murphy’s house”.

The comment was met with a quick rebuttal from Hall’s camp.

“The statement regarding Arsenio Hall is absolutely false, ridiculous and absurd,” says Hall’s rep Traci Harper, via EW.

O’Connor’s Facebook post was still live as of Tuesday morning, and was generating a lot of attention, garnering more than 1,500 comments and nearly 2,000 shares. It reads:

< em>“Two words for the DEA investigating where prince got his drugs over the decades…. Arsenio Hall (AKA Prince’s and Eddie Murphy’s bitch) Anyone imagining prince was not a long time hard drug user is living in cloud cuckoo land. Arsenio I’ve reported you to the Carver County Sherrif’s office. Expect their call. They are aware you spiked me years ago at Eddie murphy’s house. You best get tidying your man cave.”

Prince died April 21 at the age of 57. Investigations are still ongoing.
