Keytar Bear posts video of recent Somerville street harassment on eve of Keytar Bear Day

Tomorrow, May 8, is the second anniversary of Keytar Bear and Abby Taylor Day, a Cambridge declaration that honored the street performer after a series of attacks and the resident who helped him get back on his feet. But don’t tell that to the person who decided to verbally harass Keytar Bear — while he was playing some “Purple Rain” — earlier this week in Somerville’s Davis Square.

In the video below, a person can be seen getting up in Keytar Bear’s face, disrupting his instrument, and hanging around the performer while people danced on. Finally, someone intervenes. In a post to his Facebook page, Keytar Bear says the person was bringing up his attack from a few years ago.

The video describes the harasser as a “drunk guy”, but Keytar Bear says it was a female.

He writes on We Love Keytar Bear: great video actually that was a girl abusing her LGBT status she started out like ” hey I was there when you fought 3 people and got stabbed l love you ” then Im like “OK love you too but we’re not trying to remember that not RIGHT NOW” then she acted up ,but here’s what like about this video is # 1 the awareness that Boston had my back and # 2 slow songs can either bring calm or make you leave thank you so much for this LOVE YOU BOSTON WITH ALL MY HEART all over again even more now go sit your drunk ass down and enjoy some Prince at the 5:40 mark …

Watch the video below. Sunday night at the Middle East in Cambridge, the Keytar Bear and Abby Taylor Day 2016 party features performances by The Dirty Water Brass Band, The Famous The Bikes, Somerville Ukulele Club, and Keytar Bear.
