Reports: 1 dead, multiple shot at T.I. concert last night in New York City

One person was killed and three people were wounded during a shooting last night (May 25) at a T.I. concert in New York City. According to reports, the shooting went down in a third-floor green room around 10:15 p.m. at Irving Plaza in Manhattan, a venue similar to the Paradise Rock Club, with a capacity of 1,025.

One of the people shot was New York rapper Troy Ave.

From NBC New York: “A 33-year-old man who was shot in the stomach died at Beth-Israel Hospital, according to NYPD Chief of Detectives William Aubry. A 34-year-old man who was shot in the chest is in critical condition at Bellevue Hospital. A 30-year-old man who was shot in the leg is at New York Medical Center. He is expected to survive. According to sources, he is Crown Heights-based musician Roland Collins, whose rap name is Troy Ave. A 26-year-old woman was also shot in the leg. She was taken to Bellevue Hospital and is expected to survive.”

The shooting occured during performances by openers Maino and Uncle Murda. T.I. did not end up taking the stage, and cancelled a later appearance at 1 OAK nightclub.

Though reports state the shooting happened in the green room, the incident caused a panic in the public concert hall.
