Woman shot outside Monroe, formerly NAGA nightclub, on Mass Ave in Cambridge

Cambridge police are investigating a shooting in Central Square several hours ago that left one woman with a gunshot wound to her leg.

The incident happened just after 2 a.m. this morning outside Monroe, formerly called NAGA, at 450 Massachusetts Ave. near Brookline Street. Multiple shots were fired on the block. The woman who was hit, according to police, “was treated on-scene and taken to a local hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.”

Last night, Monroe was hosting a Black White And Gold party with DJ Envy. The night was marred by violence in nightclubs elsewhere in the country, as 20 are reportedly dead after a shooting rampage in an Orlando venue.

Multiple Cambridge Police units searched the area and did locate one firearm at 415 Massachusetts Avenue. A suspect has not been identified at this time. All evidence from the scene has been secured and taken back to the Cambridge Police Department.
