Sometimes it’s the little things that fill you with joy. Other times it’s something like seeing Cambridge garage rock band CreaturoS listed as direct support for Smash Mouth and Vertical Horizon at a free summer music and arts festival.
That’s what we have today, as a quick scan of the Outside The Box lineup — going down July 13 to 17 at Boston Common — reveals perhaps the best pairing of local and national bands we’ve ever seen. CreaturoS, a noisy racket of a band who have become stalwarts of the area’s underground and DIY scene, opening things up and getting the groove flowing before he Shrek-loving, eggs-eating, bread-dodging dudes of Smash Mouth close things out. It all goes down Thursday, July 14 on the Capital One Stage.
God is good. And in this case, the god we have to thank, we are told, is Boston non-profit music organization the Record Company, who helped book some of the local bands.
