Editor’s Note: Strengthened by the beautifully lush and haunting winter single “Janie In Love”, Marissa Nadler’s incredible new album Strangers — which dropped in May via Sacred Bones — is destined to appear on many Best of 2016 lists. And now that we’re just past the midway point of the year, the Newton native rolled back into town to show just how good the LP is last night at Great Scott in Allston. The evening was enhanced by intriguing opening performances by JR Robinson’s Wrekmeister Harmonies and Oregon duo Muscle and Marrow, and Vanyaland’s Eddy Leiva was there to battle the Great Scott stage lights and capture visual evidence of what went down.
