Let’s be honest: We’ve all done dirty, nasty things to a consenting and willing adult late at night while listening to The Faint.
So the news that the Nebraska electro-punk band are releasing a greatest hits compilation sure does bring back a lot of memories, spurring deep “Where is s/he now?” thoughts and slightly bitter notions of “Well, I hope they’re happy with how things turned out.” It’s a fun game to play in your head while cranking up “Glass Danse” like you’re back at some sleazy, slutty, strobe-lit dance party circa 2003.

Get set to re-live them, even in thought only, as The Faint unveil CAPSULE:1999-2016 this fall. It drops digitally and on CD September 30, and vinyl on October 28, all via Saddle Creek. The comp features 17 tracks spanning the band’s career, including two bonus tracks (hear “Skylab1979” via Soundcloud below) and arrives just as The Faint head out on a North American tour with Gang Of Four and Pictureplane. It hits the Paradise Rock Club in Boston on October 5.
