Fenway Recordings takes it to the Cape for 15-year party with Mass Gothic, Air Traffic Controller

Summer is almost over, but not before one last party on the Cape.

Mark Kates’ management company and live series curator Fenway Recordings is celebrating 15 years of rock biz with a late-summer bash at the Beachcomber in Wellfleet. The August 22 party features performances by Mass Gothic (the new band from Noel Heroux, formerly of Hooray For Earth), Air Traffic Controller, and a joint effort from Shepherdess’ Hilken Mancini, program director of Girls Rock Campaign Boston and formerly of Fuzzy, and Buffalo Tom’s Chris Colbourn.

Maybe the best part: It’s a free party. Here’s a bit of background on Fenway Recordings, which currently hosts an ongoing live music series at Brighton Music Hall:

“Fenway was originally a record label and morphed into management in 2005. The current management roster is MGMT, Joywave, Mission of Burma, The Cribs and Doves. The Fenway Recordings Sessions series has presented over 300 shows in Boston since 2003 including Echo & The Bunnymen, fun., Hot Chip, Alt-J, Tegan & Sara, Diplo, Ellie Goulding, and Two Door Cinema Club. Many of these were Boston debut performances. There have been a number of Fenway Recordings Beachcomber Blowouts over the years including performances from Juliana Hatfield, Joywave, Unbusted, Jake Brennan, and many more.”
