Darkness Is Spreading: Worshipper announce ‘Shadow Hymns’ listening party at the Verb Hotel

As expected, Worshipper are making moves.

The heavyweight champions of this year’s Rock And Roll Rumble are unleashing debut album Shadow Hymns on August 26 via New York label Tee Pee Records, complete with featured release by Newbury Comics, and are sandwiching this furious sonic birth with a pair of events that require varying quality of earplugs.

On Monday, August 22, Worshipper provide a preview of their new LP at the Tres Gatos Record Store Pop-Up at the Verb Hotel in the Fenway (where we splash it up for our Pool Series). The gents will be on-hand for the listening party, which starts at 6 p.m. (the Pop-Up runs all day, starting at noon), and you can snag an early vinyl copy of Shadow Hymns and get it signed.

“Signed… or unsigned. Up to you,” writes guitarist Alejandro Necochea. “You can also pick up tickets for our record release show on September 9 while you’re there closing out your bar tab. I’m told there will be special cocktails available if that, too, is the sort of thing you are into. No Sox game at Fenway that night. Let’s do this.”

He’s not lying about any of that. There is no Red Sox game next door to the Verb that night, so parking should be a breeze. And September 9 is the band’s official release party, where they’ll return to the scene of April’s Rumble crowning and once again deliver a punishing metal blow to the solid structure of ONCE Ballroom in Somerville. Joining the ‘Shipp are previous Rumble champs Zip-Tie Handcuffs, The Devil’s Twins, and the recently added Swivel.

Check out the flyers below for more info, and hear Worshipper’s latest track, “Darkness”, which premiered recently on Guitar World.
