Terry Malts announce new record and fall tour, set up hotline in case you want more

Way back in summer 2012 the music writers of the Boston Phoenix sat down for another edition of 50 Bands 50 States, an annual exercise where the late alt-weekly selected the best new bands across America. We have vague memories of someone casually pushing for Terry Malts to get the California nod, but the Slumberland Records band eventually lost out to FIDLAR. Not a terrible look.

Four years later, and Terry Malts are back with a lot of new stuff.

First, their new album (and first in three years) is called Lost at the Party, and it’s out October 14 on Slumberland. Second, they just released new single “Seen Everything”, and it’s a nice slice of catchy power-pop. If you dig it, and we know you do, then Terry Malts have some good news: They’ve set up an exclusive hotline where fans can preview other tracks from the new record. Just dial 1-866-NU-MALTS and you’re golden.

Once you’re done calling their number, the Malts dudes will call yours. An October tour brings them to our part of the country, and they’re playing O’Brien’s Pub in Allston on October 25, which, since it’ll officially be Halloween season, should be one hell of a party. Full dates after the song jump.
