Rage Against the Machine’s Zack de la Rocha fires up a solo effort with ‘Digging For Windows’

For the past several weeks Zack de la Rocha’s Rage Against the Machine bandmates have been touring the country as Prophets of Rage, a supergroup fronted by a one-two punch of Public Enemy’s Chuck D and B-Real of Cypress Hill. The formation of the rap-rock hybrid crew back in May led to questions about the whereabouts of de la Rocha, and just what he’s been up to as America barrels towards a monumental election.

This morning, we all found out, as the Rage Against The Machine singer has begun a solo career with the thunderous new track “Digging For Windows”. Listen to it below, and turn up that low-end.

De la Rocha’s solo debut finds him teamed up once again with producer El-P; the two collaborated on the Run the Jewels 2 track “Close Your Eyes (And Count to Fuck).” The frontman has reportedly been working on solo material for the past decade-plus, but this is his first bit of music to properly surface.

Welcome back.
