We’ve long endorsed the live show capabilities of progressive folk trio Honeysuckle.
This time last year, we were busy revealing their participation in our CMJ party with Berklee College of Music, a few short weeks after they were selected by Converse to play Newport Folk Festival. The Boston band have turned a lot of heads in their short time playing music around town, and now extend their impressive live show to the masses with the release of a new album recorded at their vinyl release party at Club Passim in Cambridge.
Titled simply Vinyl Release Show, the August 6 performance in Harvard Square can be streamed and/or downloaded via the Honeysuckle Bandcamp. The live recording features 20 tracks, a collaboration with The Western Den, who opened the show, and covers of songs by Crosby, Stills & Nash, Gillian Welch, and Joni Mitchell.
