Kendall Calling: Oasis documentary ‘Supersonic’ gets October screening in Cambridge

October is now Oasis month around Boston.

Six days after Supersonic, North America’s greatest Oasis tribute band, plays Great Scott in Allston (October 20), the highly anticipated documentary of the same name will get a one-night-only theatrical release here in the states (October 26), thanks to distribution from A24.

So far, the only Massachusetts screening is at Kendall Square Cinema 9 in Cambridge.

In fact, the Kendall Square showing is the only one for all of New England.

Supersonic, the documentary, is billed as an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at the rise of the iconic Britpop band, and the evolution of brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher. It was directed by Mat Whitecross, the visionary behind the 2010 BAFTA-nominated Ian Dury biopic Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll and 2012 comedy Spike Island, where a young Manchester rock group devise a plan to personally deliver their demo to the Stone Roses.

The Oasis doc hits British theaters on October 14. Watch the trailer below.
