New Royal Family: Adam Ant announces ‘Kings Of The Wild Frontier’ tour of North America

Adam Ant is celebrating a sweet 16 this winter.

The British pop icon has announced 16 North American dates for January and February of 2017, all to raise a glass to Adam And The Ants’ acclaimed 1980 album Kings of the Wild Frontier. The tour, which promises to perform the “Burundi beat” record in its entirety and in sequence, as well as sprinkle in a few of the performer’s other well-known hits, kicks off January 23 in Washington, DC. The next night (January 24), the tour arrives here in Boston for a stop at the Wilbur Theatre.

Tickets go on sale Friday.

Kings of the Wild Frontier received a 35th anniversary re-issue via Sony Legacy earlier this year. The LP was Ant’s last with his post-punk group Adam And The Ants; he went on to a successful solo career in the ’80s, with MTV-approved hits like “Goody Two Shoes” and “Stand And Deliver”, and has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide.
