Inveniem goes behind the scenes at the Verb’s ‘David Bieber archive reception and rock show’

Last month we provided an inside look at David Bieber’s evolving Boston rock history exhibit at the Verb Hotel, set against the Fenway spot’s first foray into hosting live music inside its bar and restaurant, Hojoko. The night, a Girls Rock Campaign fundraiser that featured performances by Abbie Barrett, Stars Like Ours, and Radio Compass, united the current music scene with the ghosts on the walls and throughout the halls.

This week, a recap video from Brad Mindich’s Inveniem has surfaced for added context, and it examines Bieber’s unrivaled archive of Boston rock and roll memorabilia and ephemera.

“He’s been a fantastic addition to the hotel, and telling the story of Boston’s rock and roll history,” says Verb owner Steve Samuels, of Samuels & Associates. “His archives are incomparable and the first round that we had with him attracted a tremendous amount of attention, and we thought it was time to take another look at the great things he has in his collection. so tonight we rotate a whole new round of things that David’s had hidden away for many years.”

In the video, which you can view below, Bieber chats with Jim Sullivan about his collecting, the archive at the Verb, and how the hotel is adding new pieces every few weeks, creating a living and evolving museum of Boston rock. Also featured in the clip are Verb hotelier Robin Brown and Girls Rock Campaign co-founder Hilken Mancini, and the recap is soundtracked by Stars Like Ours’ 2015 single “High”.
