Good morning Tuesday, here’s some Depeche Mode for breakfast.
The legendary synthpop band took the stage in Milan to announce a new record, titled Spirit, and subsequent tour. “It’s all come together really well, we’re really pleased with what we’re doing,” says frontman David Gahan.
Recorded in Santa Barbara and New York, and produced by Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford, Spirit is due next spring. “We’re very proud of it,” Gahan says.
To support the new LP, Depeche Mode have also announced the European leg of their Global Spirit tour, which will span 32 shows across 21 cities. It begins in Stockholm, Sweden, on May 5, and later in the year, North American and South American tours are expected to follow.
