No Need For Mister: Icona Pop look on the ‘Brightside’ with vibrant new single

Icona Pop have quite the knack for melody. The Swedish electro-pop duo have been mainstays on the indie club and nightlife circuit ever since dropping the triple-platinum pop bomb that was “I Love It” back in 2012, landing everywhere from dancefloors to film trailers to sports arenas to television advertisements.

Ever since, Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt have been releasing a string of catchy-ass, cheerleader-pop jam, and today return with their latest nugget of blasting beats, the vibrant “Brightside”.

The track was produced by Jarrad Rodgers (MSTR Rogers) and Freddy Kennett of Louis The Child. It should be enough to bring Icona Pop back to the forefront of alt-pop, and arrives just as the pair of voices appear as Trolls characters in the new Dreamworks Animation feature. Watch the trailer for that film, which stars Anna Kendrick, James Corden and Justin Timberlake, here.
