Halloween 2016: Six sick parties and shows tonight to keep the spooky season alive

You may have heard the news: Halloween is not over. While most people got their spooky groove on over the weekend at parties all around New England, the calendar reminds us today that October and her devious ways have work left to be done. As children of all ages hit the streets this afternoon in search of free candy, ample treats for adults remain within some of Boston and Cambridge’s finest venues, one final blast of costumed revelry for those who want to wear that Tina Belcher get-up out in public one last time and drunkenly touch a few butts (consensually, of course) before November’s coming fire arrives tomorrow morning. If you missed out on any of the parties we hyped over the weekend, in both the Boston area and down in Providence, fear not, as we provide six additional options this evening, fit for a Halloween forever mindset.

Eye Design’s Trick or Treat Yo Self at Charlie’s Kitchen

Eye Design are going hard in the (corpse) paint this Halloween. Over the weekend they hosted Growing Up Spooky at the Plough & Stars and a straight-up rock show at O’Brien’s, and now tonight they complete the Halloween hat trick with their latest Treat Yo Self party. We never like to play favorites here at Vanyaland, and the entire bill of cover sets is fantastic, but…. uhhh, Lady Pills playing the music of the Clash? Sign us up. But as we said, the rest of the bash is worth your time; roll up to catch the Way Ways as the Strokes, the Owens as the Shins, Satan is Boring as Sonic Youth (featuring members of PET Sounds), and a Voltron unit of Black Beach, Midriffs, and Deep Shred dudes performing as Raygun Against The Machine. Shout out to Brian Barresi Art for the ace flyer.
