Head On: Listen to the new Jesus and Mary Chain track ‘Amputation’

Earlier today, Steve Lamacq on BBC Radio 6 Music debuted a new track from the Jesus and Mary Chain titled “Amputation.” It comes from the band’s upcoming album, Damage and Joy – their first in 18 years.

Last month, JAMC manager and Creations Records head Alan McGee announced the release of the follow-up to 1998’s Munki, scheduled for release next March, calling it “unbelievable” and “kinda enormous.” The Reid brothers, William and Jim, reconvened back in 2007 and have been touring a quite a bit since, but it’s taken this long for them to hunker down in the studio and put together a full length.

Just from a couple spins, it’s apparent the brothers Reid aren’t straying from their swirling noise rock sound of the past – and that’s more than O.K. with us. Listen to the new song below.
