Vanyaland Holiday Gift Guide: What to buy the music lover in your life

There are 10 days until Christmas, which means there are only approximately 9.6 shopping days left in the holiday season. Chances are you've locked down your shopping list and you've got it all sorted out (congratulations!), but if you're like us, you've still got some shopping left to do. So Michael Christopher and Michael Marotta of Vanyaland put their Michaelness together to whip up a 2016 Holiday Gift Guide, geared towards the music lover in your life. Yeah yeah, we know, we should have published this shit right after Thanksgiving (turns out we're as tardy with our publishing as we are with our shopping). But we live in the age of expedited shipping, so buck up, order some of the goods below, or use it as a template as you venture into the commercial brick and mortar war zones this weekend.

18 and Life on Skid Row

Because you’re not running out to Barnes & Noble for Dave “Snake” Sabo’s take on how it all went down, give the gift of Baz this holiday season and get the Skid Row scoop via one of rock’s greatest frontmen (yeah, we said it). In 18 and Life on Skid Row, Sebastian Bach delivers his own dirt about his time with the band, the crazy shit that went on during hair metal’s late-’80s peak, and how he made the improbable transition from Rock God frontman to a Broadway (Jekyll & Hyde, Jesus Christ Superstar) and television star (Gilmore Girls). If you’ve ever made out while “I Remember You” played on your car’s stereo, then this might be a worthy trip down memory lane. The AV Club has called 18 and Life on Skid Row “a delightfully trashy and salacious read,” and that’s good enough for us.

$27.99, available via harpercollins.com.
