‘It’s been an incredible 10 years as a band’: Chairlift announce breakup

Colorado-born, Brooklyn-based electronic-pop duo Chairlift are calling it a day after 10 years as a band. Caroline Polachek and Patrick Wimberly made the announcement Friday afternoon via Twitter, stating that Polachek will carry on a solo artist while Wimberly will work more in production.

Chairlift also announced they will play a string of final shows next spring, with dates to be announced.

The duo’s third and most recent studio album, Moth, was released in January via Columbia Records. They had a string of indie hits dating back to 2006, though our favorite work of theirs remains 2012 single “I Belong In Your Arms.” Listen to it below and read their full statement to the world.
