Studio 52 Boston. Providing a positive and inspiring environment for artists and musicians to perfect their craft.

Roughly one year ago Boston psych-pop band Quilt released their third LP, titled Plaza, and the record held up as one of our favorites of 2016. This week, Quilt’s drummer has some new sounds via his own band, John Andrews & The Yawns, and their soothing guitar-pop single “Drivers” can be heard below.

“Drivers” serves as the introduction to Andrews’ upcoming album, Bad Posture, which is out March 10 on Woodsist. Stereogum reports that the record was recorded at a farm house in Barrington, New Hampshire, and we spy former New Highway Hymnal guitarist Lukas Goudreault lending his angelic talents to the project. The video also features ice hockey.

As Quilt take a break from the music action, John Andrews & The Yawns are set to head out on a February tour that touches down locally February 12 at the Lilypad in Cambridge. Check out all the dates below and watch the “Drivers” video, directed and edited by Andrews and filmed by Ty Ueda, below.
