Uh-Oh-Chella: Beyoncé has withdrawn from headlining Coachella

When Beyoncé announced her pregnancy earlier this month, the second reaction that most fans had was to wonder if she would still perform at Coachella Music & Arts Festival this April (the first reaction, of course, was to freak the hell out).

Now, we know the answer: The pop-r&b star has officially cancelled her two headlining Saturday night (April 15 and 22) performances at the California festival, citing “doctor’s orders” as the reason for her withdrawal.

Coachella announced today that she will not perform at the 2017 festival, stating: “Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyoncé has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.”

Following the birth of her twins, however, Queen B will return in 2018 instead as a headliner.
Coachella has not yet announced who will replace her headlining slot this year — maybe Converge are up for another “fill-in”.

If you can’t wait until 2018, you can watch a very pregnant Bey perform a “Love Drought” and “Sandcastles” mashup at the 2017 Grammy Awards here.
