Noasis: Liam Gallagher returns to North America to play Montreal’s Osheaga Festival

By this point in February, we’ve seen pretty much everything we’re going to get when it comes to big-ticket summer music festivals, and some overlap can be now found among lineups of everything from Boston Calling to Coachella to Bonnaroo to Firefly.

But Montreal’s Osheaga Music & Arts Festival seems to have something the other festivals do not: Liam Fucking Gallagher.

The former Oasis frontman, who is said to be releasing solo material at some point this year, will play the Canadian music fest August 4 to 6 at Parc Jean-Drapeau. Headlining Osheaga are Lorde, Muse, and The Weeknd, and joining Gallagher in the extra-deep undercard are Solange, Major Lazer, Justice, MGMT, Father John Misty, Die Antwoord, Run The Jewels, Belle And Sebastian, Crystal Castles, De La Soul, Muna, Sofi Tukker, Beach Slang, Angel Olsen, Dawes, The Lemon Twigs, and dozens of others.

This should mean we’ll be getting a new solo joint from Gallagher by the summer.

Hopefully it’s sooner. Beady Eye was a long time ago.
