Studio 52 is a community artist space located in the heart of Allston, and is proud to support the Boston music scene and local artist community.

After a successful 2016 that was capped off with three nominations at the Boston Music Awards (including Artist of the Year), Palehound have announced this week they have signed with Polyvinyl Records. The label will be releasing the Boston guitar-rock band’s follow-up to 2015 breakout LP Dry Food later this year.

“Still can’t really wrap my head around this but I signed to one of my favorite labels, Polyvinyl Record Company and they’re gonna be releasing my second album this summer,” writes Palehound songwriter and creative force Ellen Kempner. “Thank you all so much for helping make this happen. More info to come soon.”

Polyvinyl relayed the news in their own post, writing: “Did you hear? WE SIGNED Palehound! Stay tuned for details on their upcoming album, which will be out later this year. Trust us, you’re about to be blown away! If you’re unfamiliar with Palehound, it’s time to get you up to speed! Check out their video for “Molly” below and catch them on tour with Big Thief later this month. Details, tour dates, and more available right here.”

We agree with Polyvinyl — check out all that info below. The aforementioned video for “Molly” was up for Video of the Year at December’s BMAs; Palehound were also nominated in the Rock/Indie Artist of the Year category.
