New Sounds: Listen to Feist team with Pulp’s Jarvis Cocker on ‘Century’

With Pulp on an indefinite hiatus and the Harry Potter film saga slowing down a bit, Jarvis Cocker has been relatively quiet of late. But the Britpop beacon has suddenly reappeared on Feist’s new single “Century,” providing a bit of Different Class-era spoken word to the jittery track’s cooling back end.

It’s typical of Cocker to show up strong at the end of a “Century.”

The song is another taste of Feist’s new record and first in six years, titled Pleasure, which is due April 28. Not too long after, the Canadian indie-pop singer will be appearing over two nights June 1 and 2 at the Sanders Theatre at Harvard University, the same spot where Rihanna received her Humanitarian of the Year award back in February.

“We’ll be premiering Pleasure in Toronto, Mexico City, at Harvard, in a historic vaudeville theater in LA, Town Hall in New York, The Fillmore in SF, and where FDR used to celebrate his birthdays in DC,” Feist writes on Facebook. “They will be very special shows.”

Listen to “Century” below, and scan all Feist’s dates, including a stop at Wisconsin’s Eaux Claires Festival on June 17, after the jump.
