On a panel discussion with director Rian Johnson, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy, Mark Hamill, and others, Daisy Ridley (dressed in all red, if that means anything) shined just a little bit of light on the storyline and her character Rey’s relationship with Luke Skywalker. “We go deeper into Rey’s story,” Ridley said, adding that “it’s difficult to meet your heroes because it may not be what you expect it to be.”
The role of Luke Skywalker appears to be a central storyline in The Last Jedi. On the same panel, Kennedy said this afternoon that Hamill is “so incredibly important to this film.” We also met a new character named Rose, played by Kelly Marie Tran, who is said to be “part of the resistance.”
Let’s dive right in.
Ok, whew, we’ll give you a moment to replay that a million times over and over. But this line could be very telling: “I only know one truth. It’s time for the Jedi to end.”
Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters this December.
