Studio 52 is a community artist space located in the heart of Allston, and is proud to support the Boston music scene and local artist community.

While most were still shaking off their New Year’s hangover back in January, Notoriety decided to get a jump on 2017 by dropping debut album Expect The Unexpected. And unlike the year we’ve been having so far, its soulful fluidity effortlessly captivates listeners from beginning to end.

The Brockton duo, consisting of rapper Vydle Sinez and vocalist/emcee Incredible Chuck, possess a discography full of blustery beats coupled with colder realities. After a series of EPs, mixtapes, and other releases, Expect The Unexpected elevates their game: “Day Job” captures the tedious and robotic nature of adulting, while “Dino Spumoni” summarizes the perils of being woke.

Forming in 2009, Notoriety are known for possessing a heightened level of introspection into both political and social issues through the medium of hip-hop. That will be on display this Saturday (May 20), when they are set to play Paris Street Gallery in Everett as part of the United Art Series presented by Xperience Creative and TheSession.net.

The event will feature an array of talented artists including Everett Gibbons, Cife Man, and Black Space Odyssey. It promises to be the ultimate curation of culture, and you can show up for Notoriety by revisiting Expect The Unexpected below.
