Armed with an arsenal of hits, The Psychedelic Furs announce 2017 ‘Singles’ tour

There comes a point in pretty much every music lovers’ life where he or she marvels at just how many fucking tunes are included in The Psychedelic Furs’ iconic 1980s catalog. The British modern rock band released seven albums between 1980 and 1991, including 22 singles, defining the decade with classics like “Pretty in Pink,” “Love My Way,” “The Ghost In You,” “Heartbreak Beat,” and others.

Now, on frontman Richard Butler’s 61st birthday, the Furs have announced a 20-date North American “Singles” tour with Bash & Pop that comes to the Paradise Rock Club in Boston on October 14. Tickets to the local date go on sale Wednesday (June 7).

As the tour title implies, the Furs are hitting the States armed with their arsenal of hits. The band’s shows in Europe under the same premise promise “singles from each studio album in our catalogue,” and we’ll assume the stateside run follows a similar suit.

Check out a selection of Psychedelic Furs hits below as well as their entire run of 2017 live dates, including a crazy July 29 date at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater with Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, The Fixx, Belinda Carlisle, Colin Hay, and Berlin.

Hot damn.
