Another Serving: Japanese Breakfast unveil ‘Twin Peaks’-inspired ‘Road Head’ video

Chances are everyone reading this falls into one of two categories: Either you missed Japanese Breakfast’s sold-out show with Sandy Alex G last night (July 5) at The Sinclair, or you attended it and loved it. So we’re here to deliver good news to both parties, as the ethereal guitar-pop project from Michelle Zauner is hitting the road for a fall headlining tour, and returns to the Cambridge rock club on October 11. Tickets go on sale Friday.

To celebrate the news of this headlining run, Japanese Breakfast also released a video for the kaleidoscopic “Road Head,” another track off new LP Soft Sounds From Another Planet, which hits July 14 via Dead Oceans.

“[It’s] the fifth music video Adam Kolodny and I have collaborated on,” says Zauner. “For this one we wanted to focus on staging and an exaggerated color palette. We were inspired by Fallen Angels and Twin Peaks.”

For those who can’t wait for the autumnal return of Japanese Breakfast, feat not: Zauner is opening a few dates on Tegan & Sara’s summer tour, including a July 28 show at State Theatre in Portland, Maine. Full list of dates after the video jump.
