We’re in the sweet spot of summer here in Boston.
The city is a relative ghost town, the students aren’t due back for a few weeks, and the only thing to do is vege out on a beach somewhere in between weekend BBQs and patio hangs. Of course, there needs to be some travel consideration in order to get to those beaches, BBQs, and patios, and Boston’s Hey Zeus have provided a ripper of a joint set to soundtrack all the golden cruisin’ in, around, and out of town.
The top-down, needle-burying, guitar-rock tramp of a track is called “Gilded”, and it’s the latest in a string of new shit Hey Zeus have promised as we count down the rest of 2017. It’s been a good year for the dudes, who stormed the Rock And Roll Rumble back in the spring with a spirited run to the finals, heavily armed on stage with a neon light-up cross, a golden gong, enough Bice Nathan to fuel a small army.
Hey Zeus keep it lively in the coming week, performing at Day 1 of this weekend’s Grub, Sweat And Beers III at O’Brien’s Pub in Allston alongside Mill Pond Falls, Gaskill, Birnam Wood, and others, and then at The Digs’ mighty farewell party August 11 at The Middle East in Cambridge.
